Liora Davis

Creative Watercolor

A fun and creative way to learn watercolor and/or hone your creativity and technical skills, exploring wet on wet, wet on dry, glazing and other techniques. Creative exploration is encouraged. Very hands-on guidance and instruction in all areas of painting, including drawing, composition, use of color, etc. The class will often include a demo by Liora on each new technique or assignment.

Advanced students choosing to work on their own projects, with coaching and critique are invited. Beginners, too are always welcome. A relaxed atmosphere focusing on the creative process, treating the ‘artist soul’ gently in all classes. All levels.

Instructor Bio

Liora Davis has been a full-time artist since the late eighties, with a formal education at Parsons School of Design in New York and the Silvermine College of Art in New Canaan, CT.

One woman exhibits include Elephants and Other Big Subjects, 2018 at Artserve, Las Olas Capital Arts, August of 2017. Other recent includes “Art for Elephants”, Artserve (2015) and ”A Tribute to Elephants”, Parker Playhouse (2014). Liora also had a solo exhibit at The Gildo Pastor Center Gallery in Monte Carlo, a series of solo shows at Northern Trust Banks, Broward College (2 people, with Yuri Dojc) and numerous galleries. In 2016, “The Elephant In the Room” exhibit, raised awareness about threatened animal species– here she invited her students to join her at Parker Playhouse.
Collections include The Smithsonian Museum, the Virginia Beach Center for Contemporary Art, The Art of Living Foundation, and Northern Trust Bank.
Commissions have been created in South Florida for The Stranahan House (centennial poster), Bonnet House, Sunfest, Las Olas Art Fairs (5 of their official posters), several restaurants in the south of France, Easter Seals, and a poster for The Red Cross Designer Show House.

Liora’s works reflect her passion and love for the planet earth and wildlife. Since 2012, much of her work is about saving the iconic elephant and raising awareness about the poaching crisis that is unsustainable for their survival, along with raising awareness about other endangered species.
Liora has been teaching painting, drawing and color theory since 2001, and has been teaching at ArtServe since 2007. Liora welcomes students of all levels in her class, meeting each student where they are.
