Harmonious  HumaNature

Ken Weissblum

Solo Exhibition

Opening Reception

Thursday, July 14th | 6pm – 9pm

Harmonious HumaNature looks at the structure of life and man’s need to be in unity with our natural environment. Both have a fragile existence.

Man and plants are transient. Photography allows the capture of a point in time in the existence of man and nature. Just as a leaf of a plant is ephemeral, so is a movement in dance. Peak luminous moments can be captured in the dancers (who served as models), as well as in the plants and the variations in both can be examined. Shapes of nature that echo in man are explored.

Mankind depends on nature. Yet man has demanded that nature adjusts to him rather than adapt to it. This relationship is explored through the blending of the sensual and organic shapes of plants and nudes. These images seek to harmonize man with nature.
