Gallery Reception: September 6 | 6:30pm - 9pm

Brazilian born poet and painter Paula Mescolin's art is featured in the BankUnited Gallery during September. Her paintings stimulate thought to reflect on the absences that shape life. With each movement, the artist seems to be asking: "Just how far can a line or a gesture go? How far can it be modulated?” Between surface and depth, between skin and flesh, or between placidity and foliage, the color adapts and alternates, within the limits of the expressive effectiveness of the images. Her degree in fashion design influenced her art and expanded it into the realm of the unpredictable. Appearance and disappearance deliberately confuse and distort the scales, intensify color ranges, and give her art a unique character.
