Jason R. Hughes has over 25 years of experience in operations, sales, fundraising, marketing, communications, and management within both non-profit and for-profit organizations.
His notable achievements include founding Fresh Magazine, a publication aimed at exposing 18-to-34-year-olds to Canadian arts and culture, where he served as editor and publisher. He also led the sales and marketing efforts for PrideVision/OUT TV, the world’s first LGBTQ television network, securing high-profile national advertisers such as Pepsi, Procter & Gamble, Labatt, and Nissan.
In Florida, he spearheaded the creation and management of Classical South Florida Radio, the region’s only classical radio network, overseeing four stations that reached over half a million listeners. Additionally, he worked in artist relations at Atlantic Records in New York City and as Promotions Assistant at 99-9 Virgin Radio in Toronto.
Hughes holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned several leadership awards, founded a campus-wide first aid training organization (now led by the Red Cross), and was inducted into the prestigious Order of the Old Well.
In Fort Lauderdale, where he resides, Hughes has served on various advisory boards, including the Beach Redevelopment Board and the Beach Business Improvement Board. He also spent six years on the Economic Development Advisory Board and was President of the Board of Trustees for ArtServe, one of the largest cultural organizations in Broward County.
Born in Las Vegas, Rion was projected into an artistic world at an early age.
As a musician and singer at the age of 4, Rion found her way into the Modeling world at age 13 and has held a 27-year Freelance Model career in the areas of Runway, Print, and Live Action Modeling.
Rion also has maintained involvement in the music industry for over 18 years as a Singer-Songwriter as well as band management and projection.
As the Operations Manager at ArtServe, Rion comes with over 25 years of administrative management and business development through business recovery.
Within this position, Rion is excitedly supporting local artists throughout Broward County with the goal of making ArtServe a household name in the artist community.
Jennifer Gettinger, Partnership Manager, has roots in New York but is a South Florida girl through and through. She has a long history in the non-profit industry and is invested in the growth of the community.
Besides being an ‘80s pop culture enthusiast, Jennifer enjoys advocating for the underdog, playing around her with acoustic guitar, and perfecting her cold brew. She also has a deep held belief that milk chocolate is superior to dark chocolate and that isn’t up for debate.
Jennifer managed field trips and summer camp programs at Young At Art Museum; before that she worked as a case manager at Covenant House Florida, where she focused on providing basic needs of the Ft Lauderdale homeless population.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Florida International University and is a true writer at heart. Jennifer has been working at ArtServe since 2018 and is excited to further elevate ArtServe’s mission through grants and partnerships.
