Call to Artist
HIV Awareness ArtShow
An estimated 1.1 million people in the US are living with HIV, and 15% of them don’t even know it. Florida is disproportionately affected, and while progress has been made, the rate of new HIV diagnosis is back on the rise. ArtServe, in collaboration with the Urban League is preparing an HIV awareness exhibit in observance of the Florida AIDS walk in March. The show will be put on display at the League's campus gallery through April.
This is an opportunity for artists to support and get involved in their community as well as work with ArtServe in one of our Off-site Projects. There is no entry fee and every applicant is allowed up to 5 entries for consideration. Entries will be reviewed by the curatorial committee for selection.
We seek works that embody the subject of HIV awareness, work that is personal or sympathetic of those fighting HIV, work that is symbolic or emotionally representational of the battle against the disease, and work that carries a message of triumph.
