Polymer clay is an oven-curing clay made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), plasticizer and pigment available in many brands and colors. It is non-toxic and is cured at 275F in a stove top oven. When clay is soft and malleable, it can be textured, shaped and patterned to create beads, pendants, bracelets and craft objects. It can mimic many stones such as turquoise, cinnabar, ivory, agate and even wood by combining different colors; only you will know it’s polymer clay. After learning the necessary skills, students will be able to design original pieces of jewelry. Best taken as a series of classes.
