Art For The HEALTH Of It workshop series will show you how to access the Art & Science of Change. The creator and facilitator, Nerissa Balland offers a new and accessible creative entryway into conscious exploration using therapeutic arts, sound healing, and neuro-linguistics to increase our capacity for improved health, well-being, joy and success. Practicing with materials makes it feel possible to make actual change. We are all creative. Each one of us can imagine, ask questions, play, and wrestle with the raw ingredients of our lives and discover oneself.

Nerissa’s workshops include solutions for people to reduce stress, relieve anxiety, and uncover new mind-body insights. Learn to harness and transform inner dialogue through creative healing to calm the central nervous system and become present. Change your mind, change your brain, break patterns and make art about it.

*Wednesday Workshops are available in bundles or independently.

Individual sessions are $60 per person or you can register for all 5 sessions and receive a $15 discount for a total of $285/pp.

#1 Discover Your Brain Language
Date: Wednesday, August 4, 2021
Time: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

Description:
You are the author of your life story, and yet you haven’t toured your very own headquarters! Now is the time to uncover what is going on inside your mind to discover whether you process in pictures, sounds, or feelings.
We receive 11 million bits of information per second, and we only absorb roughly 50 bits per second. When information from the outside reaches our brains, it does so in the form of sight, sound, and feeling. This combination forms our subjective experience of the world – how we subjectively represent the outside world within us.
Decoding your “brain language” helps further your knowledge of how you communicate within your mind and body and with others.
Join Nerissa Balland, Master NLP Practitioner and Therapeutic Arts Coach, as she guides you with the tools to uncover your unique language of internal experience and embrace mental processes of thinking, remembering, imagining, and perceiving.

Materials Needed:
• Mixed Media Sketch pad (9×12” or larger)
• Note Book (un-ruled) or loose-leaf copy paper
• Writing utensils (i.e., pencils/pens/markers)
• Drawing materials of your choice (i.e., pastels, graphite, charcoal, crayons, pencils, etc.)
• Yoga mat & blanket or towel to lay down on

#2 The Art of Manifestation: Why don’t you have what you genuinely want?
Date: Wednesday, August 11, 2021
Time: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Location: ArtServe Auditorium (in-person, socially distant, mask required)

Description: YOU BECOME WHAT YOU THINK! Join Nerissa Balland, Master NLP Practitioner and Therapeutic Arts Coach, to learn the formula to manifest positive outcomes in your life. Together we’ll identify what you genuinely want, learn techniques on building the inner resources to achieve it, and address concerns you may have. You gain the theory and gain application of it through a guided experience using the art materials of your choice (i.e., paint, drawing, writing, college work) and make the manifestation tactical. Walk away with the tools and a piece of work that will help keep you on track for attaining what you want. Be careful what you wish for! You might just get what you want after completing this session.

Materials:
• Art materials of your choice (i.e., paints, drawing, sculpture, collage work, paper, canvas, wood, etc.) Maximum size for table top work 16×20 or 20×20
• Note Book (un-ruled) or loose-leaf copy paper
• Writing utensils (i.e., pencils/pens/markers)
• Yoga mat & blanket or towel to lay down on

#3 The Creative Lens: (where do you find motivation and validation?)
Date: Wednesday, August 25, 2021
Time: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Location: ArtServe Auditorium (in-person, socially distant, mask required)

Description: How are the filters in your life helping or hurting your need for validation.
Join Nerissa Balland, Master NLP Practitioner and Therapeutic Arts Coach, and learn four different filters that are the driving force behind what motivates and validates you! Using practical, real-life examples, you will learn how to identify what motivates you and, most importantly, what doesn’t.
By simply becoming aware of the filters, you use and consciously adopting different filters, you can make shifts in your behavior. Using the camera lens as a tool through the practical application, we’ll put these filters to the test.

Materials:
• Preferred smartphone with camera (or polaroid)
• Drawing utensils of your choice
• Sketch pad, note book or scrap paper

#4 What’s Holding You Back? (get “UnStuck”)
Date: Wednesday, September 1, 2021
Time: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Location: ArtServe Auditorium (in-person, socially distant, mask required)

Description: Have you hit a wall but can’t find your way around it? Uncover ways to “get unstuck.” Join Nerissa Balland, Master NLP Practitioner and Therapeutic Arts Coach; she will guide you through a creative exercise that will help you identify what is holding you back and provide you the resources to help you move forward. Cultivating small mindset shifts makes monumental shifts in life.

Materials:
Choose one of these options:
• Popsicle sticks & glue
• Balsa wood, wood glue, exacto knife
• 9×12 paper (or poster board)
• Drawing utensils of your choice
• Sketch pad, note book or scrap paper

• Creative Healing through identifying limiting beliefs and disproving them.

#5 Hijacked Mindsets
Date: Wednesday, September 8, 2021
Time: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Location: ArtServe Auditorium (in-person, socially distant, mask required)

Description: Are you over in genuine gassed up positive quotes in various fonts and colors that perpetually hijack your social media news feeds or the chatter from peers to be more positive? All the positive thinking, manifesting, vision boarding, and dreaming do not get you what you want. Your thoughts DO NOT create your reality! However, your thoughts about your reality create your experience of that reality. This distinction is critical and far too often glossed over, ignored, or pushed aside.

You are invited to learn tools to help you increase self-awareness and reclaim your thought-process. Many choices we make are unconscious; we make them on autopilot. Expanding self-awareness not only adds insight to get off autopilot but also helps us experience elements of ourselves that never occurred to us before. Join Nerissa Balland, Master NLP Practitioner and Therapeutic Arts Coach, to help you impact your inner experiences and personal communication with others.
