I began painting when my children (now adults) were young and we were all living in N.H. at the time. I didn’t do much of it although I joined an Art club which I found most useful. Skip to 2000. My grandchildren were about 7 and 9 years old and I made the decision to move to Florida to be closer to them. I had much more time on my hands, even with a full time job, and began painting again, as well as crafting. My painting ranged from Murals to Miniatures and included painting on glass which was fun. When the painting was finished, the glasses had to be baked in the oven!
I have taken a break from painting at the present time. I know, probably a big mistake, but there’s only so much wall space……………..I am proud to be a member of ArtServe!
I am a Being of many faces and characters: Grandmother, choir member, old Biddy, artist, crafter, gardener, reader, dancer, World Traveler, author - I could go on and on. So there’s plenty of Stuff in that noggin of mine and I have checked off not only many unusual – what can I call them – “Accomplishments”, from my Bucket List, but even some that seemed to appear by themselves! But painting is right at the top of that list. I see beauty in so many things, especially in nature. I guess I could say I am a Realist which is obvious in my work. I like to paint a single blossom on a 20 by 30 canvas in pure, bright colors and show so many details that aren’t as obvious in the live version. Nature is so magical. I hope that I help to bring that awareness and appreciation to observers of my work.
