Jeremiah Jenner’s passion for capturing the light began when he was five years old when his mother gave me a Kodak Instamatic camera. The very first photo was of a crisp winter sunrise from the top of a hill overlooking the vista of sparkling ice dancing along the tree branches of the forest.
Jeremiah has stayed true to his destiny as a photographer for the past 46 years exploring the different facets of the medium from fine art photography to becoming a certified photography instructor for the School Board of Broward County in 2010.
The photography classes that he has instructed since 2005 have helped students to become proficient in the technical and creative aspects of photography as well as successful professional photographers in the business world. Their new found skills also help to create and add a diversified background to the arts community.
Mr. Jenner lives in the Sailboat Bend Artist Lofts in downtown Fort Lauderdale where he creates his photographic masterpieces and instructs private photography lessons and studio lighting workshops.
Jeremiah. Jenner’s sleek and minimalistic limited editions have endeared
the media as well as the serious art collector. National collectors include the
Holiday Inn Corporation, Starbucks, PBS and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
Jeremiah was awarded the prestigious Broward County Cultural Division Creative Investment Program grant. The funding will support his Photography Development Workshop. There were four professional photography development workshops which are focused on the essential aspects of creative photography. These took place along with an exhibition of their photography at the Sailboat Bend Artist Lofts.
ArtSpace nominated Jeremiah for the Su Job Award for Education. This award is presented to an individual artist who has displayed a commitment to arts education. In order to have been nominated, a candidate needed to exemplify these activities such as mentoring, teaching in formal educational settings, community education, promotion of arts appreciation and tutoring. It was an honor for him to have been nominated for this award.
Accolades include Lifetime Arts Teacher of the Month in October, 2016.
Lifetime Arts awarded a grant to the Miami Dade Public Library System for me to instruct the Digital Fine Art Photography workshop to senior citizens in both 2013 and 2014. The culminating event was an exhibition and reception of their photographs in the community room of Arcola Lakes Library.
